Homeowners are concerned about....

How Experience are you?

I have been a tradesman for forty years as a Master Carpenter, Project Manager, Claims Adjuster and Contractor. The majority of these projects included painting. My participation involved using the paint brush and often responsibility for quality.

Will my possessions be protected?

We will protect your floors, furniture and possessions with canvas drop sheets. We simply ask that you remove your smaller possessions from the room.

How long will it take?

While conditions and requirements vary from project to project, I expect to use two gallons per day. More importantly, once I begin a project I will work all day every day until it is finished.

Do you have a warranty?

I carry a two year warranty that follows what the State of Indiana recommends for the type of contracting I do.

What about quality?

The Painting and Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA.org) describes in detail what you should expect from a quality paint project. This is our professional organization.

* 4.89. PROPERLY PAINTED SURFACE:
A surface uniform in appearance, color, texture, hiding and sheen. It is also free of foreign material, lumps, skins, runs, sags, holidays, misses, or insufficient coverage. It is also a surface free of drips, spatters, spills or overspray caused by the Painting and Decorating Contractor’s workforce. [PDCA, P1-04]

What brand of paint do you use?

A professional painter will build a special relationship with a paint supplier. For The Brush & Bucket of Indiana that is Sherwin-Williams, a local business. Of course we will use any brand name that a customer prefers. For a homeowner, the main concern should be the quality of paint that is being used and whether that quality paint is a good value for the price being charged.

 When should I hire a professional?

When you are preparing to sell your home; when you have a mold problem; when you have extensively damaged walls or ceilings; when you simply don’t have the time to plan, begin and finish a project thoroughly; you will benefit from a professional’s judgment and experience. When you think you could waste your time or hard earned money, don’t miss your chance to ask a qualified, professional to protect your interests.

How do you paint a room?

The most important procedure is not the brushstrokes on the painting surface. The preparation of the surfaces before a paint can is opened will determine the quality of the final  work product. Knowing how to prepare a surface well takes knowhow learned from professional experience. There simply is no substitute.
